United Nations 06 March: JKCHR have continued to highlight that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have failed to construct their independent Political and Diplomatic Narrative in accordance with the jurisprudence of Kashmir Case. In this regard, JKCHR are currently working on constructing a narrative based on the principle of ‘equality’ of people and based on the Right to Self Determination, taking on board the merits of the two respective narratives of India and Pakistan.

At this moment the lead roles in the determination of the future of Kashmir have been assigned to UN which in turn has outsourced work domains for India and Pakistan. Once the independent Political and Diplomatic Narrative is ready it would be shared with all opinions in Jammu and Kashmir, UN, India and Pakistan and rigorously defended on its merit. We will make every effort to break the bilateral status quo and go universal on the basis of this INDEPENDENT KASHMIRI NARRATIVE .

As part of our work in this regard the UN Secretary General has received two written statements from JKCHR under agenda item 3 – “Promotion and protection of all human rights, civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, including the right to development” and under Agenda item 4 –“ Human rights situations that require the Council’s attention.” Both the documents cover Jammu and Kashmir. These Documents have been circulated yesterday 4th March 2014 at the 25th Session of UN Human Rights Council which has started from 3 March – 28 March 2014.

These Documents have been identified as A/HRC/25/NGO/105 and A/HRC/25/NGO/106 and are available from the Document Section of the United Nations in Geneva and are now available on UN Website. JKCHR believes it is important to educate the public and the two Governments in regard to the importance of this Kashmiri Narrative being pushed at the UN by JKCHR and its leadership. We are likely to be at the Session from 10 March 2014 when General Debate on agenda items 3 and 4 will start.
